Dearly

Privacy

Last updated October 27, 2026

What you record in Dearly is kept on your iPhone.

There’s no account, no bank login, no ads and no tracking.

We never see your spending: no Dearly server holds it.

What stays on your iPhone

Everything you record: amounts and currencies, tags, notes, merchants, trips, your monthly limit, recurring expenses and your reviews. Dearly keeps it in its own storage on your iPhone, protected by your iPhone’s encryption, and it’s included in your iPhone’s backups like other app data.

What leaves your iPhone, and why

Apple Pay payments

If you set up the Shortcuts automation, your iPhone hands Dearly the amount, merchant and card name of each Apple Pay payment, on the phone itself. Dearly doesn’t connect to your bank or to Wallet. You can turn the automation off in Shortcuts at any time.

Notifications

Dearly’s notifications (a recorded payment, 80% of your monthly limit, a review that’s ready) are scheduled on your iPhone; nothing is sent from a server. You can turn them off in Settings.

What we don’t do

If you’ve chosen in iOS Settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports. They help us fix bugs and contain none of your spending.

Deleting your data

Delete Dearly from your iPhone and its data goes with it. Your iPhone’s backups keep a copy until they’re replaced.
